The Business Kollel Objective...
The “Business Halacha” curriculum has been promoted to bring the vitality and necessity of practical business halacha to baalei batim bogrei Yeshiva across America. While often mistakenly viewed as halachos relevant only in the context of dinei Torah, these halachos are in truth indispensable to the Torah businessman on a daily basis no less than hilchos Shechitah is to a professional shochet.
Since acquiring a complete mastery of all three volumes of Choshen Mishpat is a daunting task, the Business Kollel curriculum selects and highlights those halachos most pertinent to the average businessman, so that he gains a respectable knowledge of practical business halachah by the end of the two year program. As the program is essentially based upon open-book Shulchan Aruch, the limud should be learned, in a pair with a Chavrusa, or solo, under the guidence of the Rav/Rosh kollel who serves as the maggid shiur or sho’el umeishiv. For baalebatim seeking a daily shiur instead of the chavrusa system, maggidei shiur should work to prepare shiurim that cover the most pertinent and basic halachos as well. We have audio's covering the entire limud as well. Starting from on-the-go 5-MINUTE SHIURIM to OVERVIEW SHIURIM, for a well rounded understanding of the topic, deeper COMPREHENSIVE SHIURIM, and THE BKN NATIONWIDE FORUM SHIURIM to be listened to at your convenience to augment the mastery of the current limud being learned.
